Whitewater Region – This upcoming hockey season 2014-2015 will be a year of exciting events and promotions of the great Canadian game of ‘Hockey’. The Muskrat Minor Hockey Association will be revising its registration policies for the IP initiation level of the hockey program for players 4-6 years of age. "We are excited about this announcement and for the opportunity to hopefully introduce more kids to our Initiation Program." stated, IP Coordinator Tim Lynch. The First year IP (4 years old) players will save a maximum of $140.00 on registrations, for a total of $300.00, 2nd year (5 years old) discounted price of registration at $350.00 savings of $90.00 and 3rd year (6 years old) registration $375.00 savings of $65.00 all other levels starting at Novice are $440.00 per season to register, this makes the average hour cost to play from $7.50-$10.00 based on levels. 

“We want children to come and experience the game of hockey, learn new skills and start to build a solid hockey foundation, while they stay healthy and active.” commented, Muskrat President, Brent Gould.  

Hockey Canada developed the Initiation program to make children's first contact with hockey a safe and positive experience. It's a structured, learn-to-play hockey program designed to introduce beginners to the game's basic skills. It enables participants to become contributing members of a team effort, develop self-confidence, and experience a sense of personal achievement. These goals are achieved in an atmosphere of fun and fair play.
